It has been over a month since Cinnawin made its return and so far things have been going great. I can't thank you enough for your continued support. With that being said there are some old problems that are once again turning up.
A note about wait times The biggest issue being the order delivery speed. This is an issue that is currently effecting all clients of Cinnawin and requires attention as part of Cinnawin's commitment to great customer service. During the next week or so Cinnawin will be undergoing an equipment overhaul to increase the daily output and in turn greatly lower the wait times for orders. Yes, this will cause a delay in all orders placed but this will also allow all orders thereafter to be manufactured and delivered faster then ever before. I believe this slight delay will be well worth it in the long term. Last summer Cinnawin experienced a lead time of 1 week which is a record that hasn't been beat. This month Cinnawin is making unprecedented investments in itself for the purpose of turning this operation into a well-oiled machine. Orders will still be going out albeit at a slower pace until the new equipment is delivered and setup. A note about the online store The other main issue is the online store. Shipping glass jars in bulk packs has proven to not be the most popular way to serve customers who don't live near a Cinnawin retailer. As a result Cinnawin is currently developing a new form factor for Homestyle Cinnamon Spread for the rural and out of province customers. This new form factor will be easy to ship, lightweight, and include flexible quantity options. In conclusion Cinnawin has had a great re-opening however challenges remain but in time they will be solved. Thank you for your patience and support.

Its been a few month since I made the announcement that Cinnawin would be shutting down and since then I've had many conversations with family, retailers, and people I've met at trade shows.
After hearing everyone out and gathering as much free advice as I could I've concluded that this business is worth fighting for. After attending some trade shows after the announcement I realized how much I love this job and how much I'd miss it if I quit. So I've decided to continue with Cinnawin. The road ahead won't be easy in any way, my first order of business is to find a suitable and affordable space to manufacturer the spread. Until then Cinnawin products will be available for purchase on the online store and at trade shows. Once a commercial space is found I will begin serving the retailers that I was before as well as adding new ones. I plan to make Cinnawin shine brighter then ever before and with your continued support it can. Thank you for everything. I look forward to continuing this business. Since last fall it became clear that Cinnawin's product lineup was due for an upgrade. Today some much needed changes are coming to Cinnawin. After listening to feedback from retailers, speaking with industry experts, and much research and development I have decided to manufacture Homestyle Cinnamon Spread in glass jars. Why glass jars? Glass jars have many advantages over the previously used deli containers. First and foremost they allow for a more streamlined manufacturing process as they are compatible with automated filling machines, they only require two labels instead of four, and don't require a shrink band to be applied. Since switching to glass jars Cinnawin has seen an 82% drop in manufacturing time. This should lead to shorter wait times for retailers, an issue that has been plaguing the business since last September. Nothing has changed in terms of volume and recipe. I believe this is everything Cinnawin's flagship product should be. The advantages don't stop there. Glass jars are dishwasher safe, reusable and recyclable making them ideal for anyone wanting to use them for their homemade jams, jellys, pickles, sauces, and more. The possibilities are endless even after the Cinnamon Spread is gone. Don't have any use for them? Take your used Cinnamon Spread jars to your local Sarcan location and have it recycled rather then sit in a landfill. Not all Sarcan locations accept non-beverage recyclables, for a list of Sarcan locations that do accept non-beverage recyclables click here. Creating jobs
As of April 1st Cinnawin is now a job creator. I have hired two people to help work in the kitchen and the output has already increased exponentially. these individuals both have obtained their Food Safe Level 1 certification and have had years of experience in the kitchen. Their expertise and work ethic can already be seen in Cinnawin's products. A note on price changes Because of the new glass jars both the bulk price and the MSRP have been increased. For retailers with pending orders placed before April 19, 2023 the old prices will be honoured. I don't like the idea of charging more for a product without offering any new changes even with high inflation rates in our economy. So here's my pitch to you, yes the prices have increased however you get a reusable/recyclable glass jar, the opportunity to support Saskatchewan jobs, and shorter wait times. For any questions or concerns regarding this or anything else please feel free to email me @ [email protected]. In conclusion Cinnawin is changing. The goal with these changes is to keep up with the new demand Cinnawin faces all while renewing the commitment I have to the local businesses who helped bring this company to where it is today. I am forever grateful to everyone who supports what I do and look forward to earning your support for years to come. Thank you for reading and have a great day! I have never been more excited about starting a year at Cinnawin than starting 2022. Last year Cinnawin doubled in size in almost every measurable way and I plan to do everything I can to keep that momentum going.
Last year I made crucial investments to help Cinnawin grow to where it is today such as a delivery van (convertibles don’t make for very good delivery vehicles), a high-yield printer to lower ink costs for labels, packing supplies for a more convenient delivery process, clothing with the Cinnawin logo to increase brand awareness, and many more small adjustments that make all the difference. 2020 was a cautious year for the business but in 2021 I decided to put my foot to the floor and see where this would take me and I have to say, I’m glad I did. It wasn’t a perfect year and there were missteps *cough cough Coconut Cinnamon Spread however with every misstep there were lessons learned. I’m proud to say that I’ve left 2021 with a better understanding of what people want from Cinnawin and I intend on bringing that valuable insight into 2022. This new insight will be my guide when it comes to developing new products for Cinnawin customers and clients. Speaking of new products. In the next year Cinnawin will aim to introduce a number of new products such as a squeezable bottle of Cinnamon Spread ideal for restaurants, bakeries, catering services, and the existing clientele. There is also a sugar-free Cinnamon Spread in the works for folks who’ve adopted a low sugar diet. There’s still a lot of questions as to how these products will be created but I believe that these products would be a valuable addition to the existing lineup. In conclusion I want to thank everyone for coming along for the ride, Cinnawin wouldn’t exist without you and I feel truly blessed to have a great group of people who believe that Cinnamon Spread is just too good to be just another memory of our childhoods. May your 2022 be filled with greatness! It's been a while since I've made one of these updates so thank you for all your patience during this busy time. I'm happy to announce that CINNAWIN products are now available at 11 different retailers and two farmers markets in ten different cities/towns across Saskatchewan. Let's talk about new retailers! Two new retailers have joined the CINNAWIN family since the last update post in March. Please welcome Friesen's Bigway in Rosthern and Craik Bigway in Craik. A big THANK YOU goes out to these new stores for choosing local! Check them both out if you live in the area. Farmers' markets are in full swing so if you live in Warman or Martensville stop by and say hi. Both markets have an excellent selection of locally made crafts, food, or drinks so there's no excuse not to check it out. Canada day is right around the corner and the Warman Farmers' Market is celebrating on July 1 so come on out and enjoy the festivities. For those who were asking about the sugar content in Homestyle Cinnamon Spread I have made a nutrition facts label that is available HERE. Nutrition facts labels will also be printed on a sticker and placed on each container very soon. That's all for now folks! Thank you for your continued support in this endeavor and have a great day! :) Hello and welcome back to the CINNAWIN blog.
It's been a busy and exciting time at CINNAWIN in the past three months so here's a recap of what's been going on. 1. WELCOME NEW RETAILERS! That's right CINNAWIN products are now being sold in the Lumsden Supermarket in Lumsden, The Collective YQR in Regina, and South Hill Fine Foods in Moose Jaw. I'd like to send a big THANK YOU to the owners of those stores for choosing local and another big THANK YOU to the existing retailers for continuing to choose local. If you'd like to learn more about these amazing retailers check out the "Where to buy" page on the website or check out their Facebook pages. 2. COCONUT CINNAMON SPREAD. At the beginning of February I introduced a new product line called "Original Cinnamon Spread". Since then I've renamed it to a more fitting "Coconut Cinnamon Spread" as the base is made with coconut oil. Coconut Cinnamon Spread has proven itself to be a somewhat divisive some people love it and some people were disappointed. There are some upsides and downsides to it for example people seem to be enjoying how light and healthy the spread is, however it usually requires stirring to form a desirable consistency as the coconut oil is very reactive to the temperature around it. Most importantly, I'd like to hear your thoughts on this new spread, do you love it do you hate it. I want to make spreads that you're going to enjoy so any feedback is much appreciated. 3. NEW MEDIUM AND LARGE SIZES FOR HOMESTYLE CINNAMON SPREAD. I've gotten some messages from people asking if I'm going to discontinue Homestyle Cinnamon Spread and to that I have to say NEVER! In fact I'm expanding it to two new sizes 338g containers and 450g containers for people who really like Homestyle Cinnamon Spread. At the time of writing this there's only a few retailers that are selling the new sizes but I expect that list to increase as the months go on. The medium size is $7 and the large size is $8. Thanks for reading and have a great day everyone. I hope you're having a great day, and are enjoying the brand new CINNAWIN website. This website is designed so customers, retailers, partners, etc can easily find whatever their looking for with regards to CINNAWIN. This blog page will be used for announcements, news releases and other fun stuff, stay tuned!
